Obituary
On August 9, 2021, Mr. Fred Matwychuk of Spedden, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 87 years as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen; 3 daughters, Carla Matwychuk, Tanya Matwychuk & Melissa (Jamie) Vasseur; 6 grandchildren, Maia, Samuel, Mira, Elias, Poppi & Georgi; 2 sisters, Mary Anderson & Anne (Cornel) Filipchuk; sister-in-law, Pat (Ron) Kopala; numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Fred was predeceased by his first wife, Esther; parents, Alexander & Irene Matwychuk; 2 brothers, Peter & Johnny. A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Vilna Cultural Centre, Vilna. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Spedden. Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie will be officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Spedden or STARS Foundation c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
