Ollie Fedorus

December 9, 1936 - July 28, 2016

Obituary

On July 28, 2016, Mr. Ollie Melvin Fedorus of Elk Point passed away at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his loving wife Donna; daughters, Michelle Dargis & Maureen Fedorus; granddaughter, Shayla Dargis; grandson, Jarred Dargis; brother, Orest (Myrna) Fedorus; 4 sisters, Mary Hyshka, Iris Drapaka, Adele (Bob) Dahrouge & Connie Moritz; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jacqueline Fedorus; parents, Louis & Jenny Fedorus; 2 sisters, Olga Fedorus Martin & Sidondia Sherwood; 3 brothers-in-law, Metro Hyshka , Harry Drapaka & Bill Moritz.

Ollie was born on December 9, 1936 in Flat Lake and moved to Elk Point in the 1960's. He was a hard working man with a great sense of humor and he was a good provider for his family. After retirement, he enjoyed starting his day off with early morning coffee with his many friends. Ollie was a master of many trades, owned his own business and worked in various areas including the Canadian Salt Company, Coca Cola Plant and the oil patch. His love of country life had him spending many hours at the “Boar’s Nest” restoring John Deer tractors, modifying farm machinery, inventing, and enjoying his love of horses. His two grandchildren were the light of his life. Together they would spend many hours working with 4H animals, making floats and attending parades throughout the Lakeland. In keeping with Ollie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elk Point Healthcare Centre (Palliative Care), Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
