On March 1, 2014, Mrs. Mary (Zapisocki) Svanda of St. Paul, formerly of St. Lina & McRae, passed away at the age of 82 years. She is survived by 2 sons & 6 daughters, Janice (Yvon) Gamache of Bonnyville, Helen Kumpula of Cold Lake, Julie (Martin) Joly of St. Paul, Jonathan Svanda of St. Paul, Theresa (Gerald) Guenette of Bawlf, Marcia Fontaine of St. Paul, Craig (Linda) Svanda of Sherwood Park & Stella (Lou) Scheper of Bonnyville; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Zapisocki; brother-in-law, Mike Maksymec; beloved nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry & Katherine Zapisocki; granddaughter, Raissa Gamache; sisters, Helen Koroluk & Anne Maksymec; brothers, Andrew (Mary), Bill, John (Vi); father of her children, John Svanda. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant, cremation has taken place.
