Obituary

On March 21, 2012, Mrs. Judi Murray of Ashmont passed away at the age of 58 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Cleve of 38 years; 1 son & 1 daughter, Tiffany (Jamie) Miskow & Bradley (Jenny) Murray both of Calgary; 2 grandsons; 5 sisters & 2 brothers, Ann Strobel, Ruth Purvis, Jim (Jean), Don (Joan), Liz Holton, Irene (Al) Beaudoin & Esther (Terry) Williams; 2 sisters-in-law, Judy Horban & Shirley Horban; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul & Olga; sister, Mary & brother, Joe. Judi & Cleve lived in Ashmont, Calgary & Trinidad, West Indies. They had recently returned to Ashmont to enjoy the pleasures of farm life into their retirement. Judi had a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse & touched many lives as she worked in Vilna Hospital, St. Therese Hospital in St. Paul, AB. & Unit 82 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. Included in her career of caring, Judi also worked at the Ashmont Elementary school as an Aide for special needs children. Judi was presently working at the Ashmont School in the same capacity having retired from nursing. Judi had a zest for knowledge & was an avid reader. She enjoyed sharing her favourite reads with others. Baking & cooking for her friends & family was a regular activity that Judi enjoyed to the fullest; she was always producing a container of freshly baked goodies for those who surrounded her. Chronicling the special moments of her family & grandkids was important to Judi & she created the most beautiful scrapbooks. Judi”s passion for life was evident through her love of gardening; her vibrant, extensive flower & vegetable gardens were a source of pride for her. Judi & Cleve had great opportunities to travel the world & some of the highlights for her were the Maritimes, Scotland & China. Living in Trinidad gave Judi the chance to explore the West Indies & islands surrounding the country. Judi played host & tour guide to many friends & family who visited there, & one of her favourite places to show people was the Asa Wright Bird Sanctuary. Judi”s smile, laughter & her caring nature brought sunshine to our lives & will be forever in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Ashmont Agriplex, Ashmont, with Reverend Danielle James officiating. In lieu of donations, Judi would have wished others to open their hearts and do something kind for their loved ones. GRACE GARDENS FUNERAL CHAPEL, Box 1780, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A0 780-645-2677
