Obituary

On February 28, 2018, Mr. John Ference of St. Paul passed away at the age of 98 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Helen; 3 sons & 2 daughters, Laurence (Denise), Judy (Henry) Rarog, Doreen Williamson, Don & Doug; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Raymond, Lester (Skippy) & Andrew; sister, Gladys (Bill) Shaughnessy; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin & Mary; 3 brothers, Mike (Helen), Tony (Jenny) & Alex (Ruth); sister, Rosalind (Bud) McLean; 2 sisters-in-law, Elsie & Rae; son-in-law, Wayne Williamson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant. Cremation to follow with inurnment in Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Flat Lake at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. My condolences Auntie Helen and family. I will always fondly remember spending time on the farm and fishing at Chicken Hill lake and spending time playing crib with uncle. Unfortunately I am out of the country so I will not be able to attend the services.
