Obituary
On March 5, 2024 Mrs. Joette Podloski of Stry, Alberta passed away at the age of 79 years. She is survived by 2 sons, Perry (Sandy) & John (Sandy); daughter, Trina (Willie) Hladchuk; 6 grandchildren, Jordan (Tracy), Kimberly (Lyle), Chance, Jayson , Dylan (Cheyenne) & Kurtlin; 5 great-grandchildren, Sadie, Addy, Macy Jo, Lane & Ava; sister, Janice Tews; half-brother, Terry Scott; special niece, Lori Stokes; numerous nieces & nephews. Joette was predeceased by her husband, Walter; parents, Joe & Emma Schurek; brother, Lloyd (Victoria); & brother-in-law, Reg Tews. Visitation of Family & Friends will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Stry. Reverend Father Andrij Nykyforuk will be officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice c/o 5626 51 Street, St. Paul AB T0A 3A1. Perry, John and Trina and families: So sorry to hear about your Mom. I can remember back when your Dad first brought Joette to visit with our parents. So long ago. In recent years, we always enjoyed visiting with her at the Graveyard. We had many laughs.
