Obituary
On January 8, 2020, Mr. Jack Lawton of Ashmont passed away at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; 3 sons, Curtis (Amy Luu) of Edmonton, Mathew (Heather) of Sherwood Park & Tim (Melanie) of Ashmont; 3 grandchildren, Sarah, Robbie & Troy; 2 brothers, David (Ritta) of Calgary & Robert (Lorraine) of Mallaig; sister-in-law, Doreen of St. Paul; numerous nieces & nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Howard & Marian Lawton; & brother, Paul. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Ashmont Agri-Plex, Ashmont. Reverend Christopher Cook will be officiating, with interment in Ashmont Community Cemetery, Ashmont. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) or Cross Cancer Institute c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. I will miss my dear, hard working uncle. So sad about your loss. I’ll always remember him as a farmer, rancher and how our families worked together on the cattle drives. Uncle Jack usually rode a paint horse.
