Obituary
On November 3, 2014, Mr. Henry Melnyk of Smoky Lake passed away at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Emily; son, Terry (Ruth) Melnyk; daughters, Darlene (Denis) Harris & Christine (Brent) Fletcher all of Smoky Lake; daughter-in-law, Zelpha of Smoky Lake; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; 2 sisters, Doris Millar of Fort Saskatchewan & Gloria (Ron) Rosychuk of Sherwood Park; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael; daughter, Gale; grandson, Marcus; brother, Mike; 2 sisters, Olga (Nick) Lazarchuk & Julie (George) Homeniuk; brother-in-law, Norman Millar; & his parents, Peter H. & Nancy. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Smoky Lake Complex, Smoky Lake. Reverend Father Gerasim Power will be officiating, with interment in Holy Trinity Russo-Orthodox Cemetery, Smoky Lake. I am so greatful & blessed to of been one of his caregivers. Henry was a man that meant SO much to so many people. Henry had such a sparkle in his eye’s when he talked about his family to me, they meant the WORLD to him.
