George PINDER
April 12, 1942 - May 20, 2020
Obituary
On May 20, 2020, Mr. George Pinder of Elk Point passed away at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Loretta; son, James (Angie); 2 daughters, Sherry Pinder & Joni (Colin) Kupka; 4 grandchildren, Tristan & Adana Pinder and Brooke & Jake Kupka; brother, Ray; sister, Dorothy O’Connor; numerous nieces & nephews.
George Clifford Pinder was born April 12, 1942 in Elk Point Alberta. His beloved parents Harold and Isobel Pinder, raised him on the family farm just south of town, with his brothers Ray and Richard and sister Dorothy. George took over the family farm after 1 year of Agriculture at Lakeland College, when his dad suddenly passed away.
George met and fell in love with Loretta, and got married in 1965. Soon after they had James, Sherry, and Joni. He worked hard both on and off the farm, and was very proud of the yard they built together. He always had time to take us to 4-H, camping to the lake, fishing, and visiting family and friends. He loved to ride horses, especially Old Luke, Fox and recently Cutter. He loved when James took an interest in rodeo, and they became a team roping pair. George was also an avid big game hunter, but loved being back at the camp with the guys more.
George’s happiest moments were the times he spent with his grandchildren, Tristan, Adana, Brooke and Jake. He always had a big sloppy kiss and the biggest hug whenever he saw them.
George was respected by everyone who knew him and loved by many. He always had time to stop everything to help family and friends, especially if there was a big meal involved.
We will all miss your big smile George, Dad and Papa and your love, kindness and gentle manner!
George was predeceased by his father, Harold; his mother, Isobel Valentine; & brother, Richard. A Private Funeral Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Pastor Kelly Sibley will be officiating, with interment in Elk Point Western Cemetery, Elk Point. Loretta, James, Sherry, Joni and family, there are no words to ease the sorrow and loss of such a gentle and loving soul. He was always the most welcoming man with the warmest smile and easy manner. I have many treasured memories of our families visiting together. He was Dad’s cherished cousin and his good buddy, and I’m pretty sure they’ve had a fine reunion now that they have both moved on to different pastures. I hope you find some peace in the knowledge that he loved you all deeply.

Loretta, James, Sherry, Joni and families. Sincere condolences on the loss of your husband, dad and grandfather. George was one of those genuine friendly down to Earth people as I remember him, both in my childhood and in more recent years when I would see him at family gatherings. I think of him fondly riding those horses or visiting my parents’ farm to ‘shoot the breeze’ with them and share some stories. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Sincerely Karen (Scott) and Glen Mayner and family.
