Obituary
On July 5, 2014, Mr. George Duncan of Vilna passed away at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsie; 2 sons & 3 daughters, Judy (Richard) Kuehn of Edmonton, David Duncan of Vilna, Mark Duncan of Edmonton, Becky (Mitch) Paul of St. Paul & Dale (Roy Schmidt) Duncan of Edmonton; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren & 1 on the way; sister, Margaret (Bob) Paggett of Unity, SK; brother-in-law, Bob Burns; sister-in-law, Elsie Duncan; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James & Catherine; son, Garry; 4 brothers & 2 sisters. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul with Pastor Kelly Sibley officiating. Cremation followed with inurnment at a later date in the family plot in Unity, SK. I worked with George sawing lumber, he was a good sawyer and we always had a good laugh. I bought some square bales from George and I asked him why he’s farming around these rocks? He chuckled and said I picked some but I’ll leave some for the boys, they’ll eventually get tired of hitting them. We will all miss George, sorry for your loss.

Dear Dad;
July 5, 2014 – you slipped away quietly that Saturday afternoon.
Little did we know that our lives changed forever at that moment.
July 10, 2014 – Family and friends gathered to honor the man you were; to celebrate your life; through pictures, song and sharing memories. What a life!
Today – July 30, 2014 – we lay you to rest in your home town,
reuniting you with your family that have gone before.
We know you’re at peace now;
Free from the pain and suffering of these past few months.
That brings us some comfort.
But, our hearts ache; our tears flow freely because
We can’t be with you; can’t see your smile; feel your hug,
Or share our lives with you.
At times, we don’t know what to do without you; but
We will go on because you taught us well.
You raised us; sheltered us; watched us grow and
Make our way in the world.
We hold you close in our hearts and treasure every memory.
We are so proud and blessed that you were OUR Dad.
Once again, we turn, wave good bye and say ‘See you later, Dad’
