On December 10, 2015, Mr. Gabriel Whiskeyjack of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 52 years. He is survived by his children, Karla Whiskeyjack, Boyd Whiskeyjack & Taylor Raine; 5 grandchildren, William, Kenai, Kaiaa, Napekhasowinow & Hope; 8 siblings, Nancy H. Cardinal, Louie (Lena) Lapatak, Morris (Violet) Whiskeyjack, Lazare (Roberta) Whiskeyjack, Alsena (Alex) White, Pearl (Harley) Cardinal, Anthony (Frieda) Whiskeyjack & Mabel (John) Shirt; uncle, Alex Whiskeyjack; auntie, Josephine Cardinal; numerous nieces & nephews; special friends, Sarah Cardinal & Sonia Makokis. He was predeceased by his parents, Ben & Caroline Whiskeyjack; grandparents, Joshua & Matilda Whiskeyjack, Edward & Maggie Cardinal; sisters, Mary, Kathleen & Emma; brothers, Freddy, George, Joe, David & Kenneth. A Wake will be held on Saturday & Sunday, December 19 & 20 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake.
