Obituary
On Monday, December 21, 2015, at 6:25a.m., His faithful servant August Anthony “Tony” Shirt of Saddle Lake was called home. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; children, Ashley (David) Corrigan, Beth Brusselers, Michael Shirt; Dawson & Parker Shirt & their mother, Laura Lee (Steve) Anderson; 2 grandchildren, Katarina & Mathias; siblings, Irene (Richard) Bridge, Lillian (Bill) Douglas, Eric Shirt, Patrick (Peggy) Shirt, Marilyn (Rewi) Shirt & Carl Shirt; numerous nieces, nephews, friends & colleagues. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph & Edna Shirt; brothers, Arthur & Joseph; sisters, Vivian & Carolyn Anne. A Wake will be held on Tuesday, December 22 at Marilyn Shirt’s Residence, Saddle Lake. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Reverend Robert Wright will be officiating. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will also be held on Sunday, December 27 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, Sherwood Park. It is with heartfelt sorrow that I have to say goodbye to an amazing colleague and friend. Tony was an amazing man full of love laughter and good humour. Most of all I will miss his daily texts of support and encouragement. Times ahead will be rough but I know that you will always be in my heart pushing me forward. I rest much easier knowing that in the end he was holding his beloved Liz’s hand and surrounded by family.
