Obituary
On April 10, 2017, Mrs. Audrey Angela Poitras-Snyder of Calgary passed away at the age of 73 years. She was passionate about working with the Alberta Aboriginal Community & sharing their history. Audrey will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Clarissa (Toni) & Crystal; 3 grandchildren, Sebastian, Finn & Felix; 2 sisters, Dee (Robin) & Cleo (Bryan); brother, Lockey; nephew, Lockey Jr.; niece, Jackey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, Brosseau. Reverend Father Philip Mathew will be the celebrant, with interment in the church cemetery. If desired donations may be made to Yasodhara Ashram c/o 5626-51 Street, St. Paul, Alberta T0A 3A1. I only just heard recently the passing of this awesome woman. She was my foster mom at one point. She was so very dear to me. She taught me so much in the short time I was with her. Some of my best memories are with her. She actually inspired me to move forward in the beauty industry. She started it all with her paraffin pot. Even her saying “suck that belly in “lol. She introduced me to a huge Christmas stocking which I still do with my kids today during the holidays. She taught me self care and to never be ashamed of being Métis. I could go on and on. I’m just So very grateful that I have her in my life for when I did.
