Obituary
On April 13, 2015, Mrs. Alice Godziuk of Edmonton passed away at the age of 78 years. She is survived by 3 sons & 2 daughters, Leonard, Lawrence (Sonya), Larry (Jennifer), Lorraine Wood & Lorna Godziuk; special pet, Molly; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Ted (Lucy) Turzanski, Willie Turzanski, Wayne (Lillian) Turzanski, Joe (Diane) Turzanski; 2 sisters, Helen (Jim) Lind & Gerry Wagner; 2 brothers-in-law, Leo Cote & Emile Cabaj; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; son, David; parents, Mike & Rosie Turzanski; 3 sisters, Effie Julien, Betty Cote & Annie Cabaj. Visitation of Family & Friends will be held on Friday, April 17 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Cultural Center, St. Paul. Reverend Father Peter Haugen officiating, with interment in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Slawa. We met Alice many years ago as she was friends with our daughter and son in law. They visited us in Sylvan Lake and Alice became family. She and grandson David spent many happy days in Sylvan Lake. Alice was not one to relax so we enjoyed her (The Best) perogies and the cleaning she did looking after us. One summer we had a charity 10K walk around the lakeshore and Alice joined us completing the whole distance. When we moved to Edmonton, Alice continued to visit and make perogies. Alice will be forever in our hearts as we remember her down to earth humor.
