From: Connie and Larry Collins
Relation: Friend

I never had the honor of meeting Melvin, but I certainly feel as though I know him. I have treasured my friendship with Dale for many years. Whenever I send a compliment Dales way – he often says that he is his father’s son. I know family connection was very important to Melvin. He, like Dale, valued the meaning of loving and supporting family and friends. I have a sweet memory of a kind gesture that Melvin did for my husband over 15 years ago. He sent Dale to our lake lot at Whitefish to give us bear fat for Larry’s psoriasis. We have never forgotten. The stuff stank beyond belief, but it sure worked. Tradition and culture are another beautiful trait that Melvin instilled in Dale. I have grown very fond of my sweet friend, and his pain is my pain. I wish him, Delia and all of his grieving friends and family my sincerest and deepest condolences. I hope that the wonderful memories of Melvin that were made through the years, help to sustain you all during this sad and difficult time.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family and Melvin’s siblings from the Potts and Louis family in Maskwacis. He was a very kind hearted considerate man. When I took my late aunties Pauline, Betty, and my mom Esther and aunty Maggie to Saddle Lake for funerals we were well taken care of. May God comfort you all.
