Obituary

On July 25, 2020, Mr. Walter Moneta of Elk Point passed away at the age of 89 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Frances (nee Tomkow); children, Brian (Luetta Fithen), Roland (Doria), Charlene (Bryan) Davidchuk & Ron (Ginette); 7 grandchildren, Tyson, Shjon, Ryle, Darien & Mason Moneta, Taylor & Justin Davidchuk; 2 step-grandchildren, Jesse & Kenneth Fithen; & 2 step-great-grandchildren, Terrance & Kane Fithen. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Mary & William; sister, Anna; & brothers, Peter, Frank, Paul & Joe. Due to Covid-19 a Private Funeral Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Reverend Father Slavko Dumec will be officiating, with interment in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Northern Valley. A Memorial Service will be held once Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) or STARS Foundation c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
