Obituary
On September 26, 2016, Mrs. Ruth Hupalo of St. Paul, formerly of Glendon, passed away at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her loving children, Reverend William Hupalo, Nancy (George) Ference, Leon (Lillian) Hupalo & Jenovia (Don) Woloshyn; step-daughter, Stephania Zuk; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rose Wychopen & Lucy Gorovenko; 2 brothers, George & Steve Morie; numerous nieces, nephews & relatives in the Ukraine. She was predeceased by her husband, Nick in 1980; step-son, Zen; great-great-grandson, Grayson Ference; parents, Metro & Eugenia Morie; brothers, Bill & Sam; sisters, Nancy & Sophie; step-son-in-law, Walter. Divine Liturgy & Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. at RCMP Century Hall, Glendon. Reverend Father William Hupalo & Reverend Father Mark Sych were celebrants, with interment in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Glendon. Sending love and prayers to all the family. Auntie Ruth was a special lady, hold all the memories close to your hearts. I remember going to the farm as a little girl, and was thrilled when she gave me a head of garlic to nibble on, on the long car ride home. Dad was fine with it, Mom hated the smell of garlic. You can well imagine what the car smelled like by the we got to Castor. Auntie Ruth laughed!

Dearest Auntie Ruth, so many good memories….the tastiest nachynka, tiniest holubtsi, making butter from scratch, and sacks of poppy seed. The visit we had with you last fall was still the best. I’m so glad we made it up to see you. May the angels carry you on gentle wings to a peaceful rest after a life well lived. My thoughts and condolences to my cousins and their families.

Sending deepest sympathies to the Hupalo families after the passing of your Mom & Gramma. I have such warm memories of Aunty Ruth on the farm, eating her fresh perogies and oh-so-good dill pickles. She carried on the tradition in St. Paul with her huge garden, always working & enjoying her work. I am so glad that I was able to have a good visit with her last fall, still with a twinkle in her eye!! She will always have a place in my heart, RIP dear Aunty Ruth.
