Obituary
On Thursday, May 1, 2014, Mr. Dorlyn Sidney Pierce was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus Christ, his Savior, at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Agnes of 58 years; children, Brenda (Brent) of Moose Jaw, SK., Brian (Ruth) of Saskatoon, SK., Barbara (Kimber) of Falher & Beverley (Allan) of Ashmont; grandchildren, Nolan (Cathy), Nadine (Jesse), Theresa, Grant, Candice (Jonathan), Mathew, Jason, Kurtis, Jennifer, Taylor, Jill, Ben & Derek; great grandchildren, Meika, Zidane, Eleana, Jackson, Carys, Mason, Caleb & Chloe; brothers, Don (Peggy) & Jack (Linda); sister, Beverley (Mervin); brothers & sisters-in-law, Doreen (Dwayne), Gerald (Carmen), Darlene (Rodney), Fran, Jenny & Vi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins & others who were privileged to have known such a wonderful, loving man. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Sandra Lee; parents, Bill & Viola; brother, Mel. Dorlyn lived his life to the fullest and was an eternal optimist who led by example. He was a Mcleods man for almost 40 years; a long time member of the United Church & lived his life according to the Golden Rule. He was fortunate to travel the world with his loving wife, Agnes at his side; finally choosing Mesa as their winter home. Dorlyn’s main priority in life was always his family & we were blessed with a legacy of love. The Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. at United Church, St. Paul. Reverend Jo Mader will be officiating & cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Fire Department in memory of Dorlyn c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB. Dearest Agnes and family, we are so very sorry for your immense loss! Dorlyn was a dedicated family man, and true example of a Christian! We will always remember his laugh and smile, which he shared so freely with anyone who was blessed to know him.
