Adeline, Loretta, Edlyn and families. We are so sorry for your loss. Ed was a wonderful Gr.5/6 neighbor at Heinsburg School. One of my favorite memories of Ed was when I would hear the accordian. I would look across the hall and sure enough, I would see Ed….standing on top of his desk….playing away! What a wonderful memory. We will keep you all in our prayers.

From: Dennis Wells (Wolfe)
Relation: Former Teacher

My family and I would like to passon sincere condolences to the Smuk family. I had Mr. Smuk as my teacher in 1970, he had patience and taught me well. He also was a friend outside the classroom, honest and caring. I say this cause he took the time to talk too me when I was going through struggles growing up without a father. Mr. Smuk thank you for your words of encourgement and rest easy on that high mountain you did a great job.

Relation: Friend

Dear Adeline, Loretta, Edlyn and families, memories … there are so many, when I think about Ed there will always be a smile. No one can smoke a curling rock, dance or play an accordian upside down like him.
Always in our hearts.

Relation: former student

Adeline and family – our very deepest condolences to you all on the loss of Ed – husband, father, and grand-father
To me, he was always Mr. Smuk. He was my grade 5 teacher and I had the greatest respect for him. That respect continued into my adult life. In later years, I saw a fun side of him and got to know him in a different light. We had a good visit fall. We were walking to the school and he was in your back yard. Never dreamed that would be the last time I would see him.
Take care of yourselves at this very trying time!

Carolyn (McEwen) & Gary Fakeley
