On May 7, 2021, Mrs. Pauline Franchuk of Smoky Lake passed away at the age of 79 years. Pauline is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Andy; 2 daughters, Penny (Trevor) Tychkowsky & Patty Franchuk; 2 grandchildren, Larissa (Kyle) & Jordan (Tatiana); brother, Victor (Ruby) Tkach; 2 sisters, Kay Grosul & Evelyn Bespoyasny; 3 sisters-in-law, Lana Tkach, Joyce Tkach & Anne Tkach; numerous nieces & nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Anastasia & Wasyl Tkach; 5 brothers & 1 sister, George Tkach, John Tkach, Mike Tkach, Walter Tkach, Paul Tkach & Mary Melnyk. Scheduled viewing Thursday, May 13 from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. Friends and family must contact Penny at 780-656-0519 to arrange a specific time. A Private Funeral Service will be held at St. Pokrova Orthodox Church, Edwand. Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie will be officiating with interment in the church cemetery. A recording of the service will be made available later Friday afternoon by clicking the Live Service tab on our website. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Pokrova Orthodox Church of Edwand c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. My condolences to the Franchuk Family. Sorry for your loss Andy & all your families. My heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your wife Pauline. I know you had a great marriage and loved her so much. I share your grief at this trying time. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Surely she will not be forgotten. It is an honor to have known such a great person, and I will truly miss her. I am deeply saddened by the great loss you and your families have suffered. My heart goes out to you in this trying time and may you, and your loved ones find the strength to get through this. Once the tears have dried up, and you have said your goodbyes, what is left is the beautiful and happy memories that you shared with Pauline. May you find comfort in the memories.
