Dear Mr. Syroid, Mary Jane, Judy, Georgina, Val and FAMILIES

We are very sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. It was a shock to hear this news.
Please know that we are thinking and praying for all of you.
May the wonderful memories of Billy sustain you in the days weeks and months ahead.

I remember when my Parent’s gas station was burning, and Billy left his own Parents anniversary party in Spedden Hall, to help us out. He slipped on his coveralls and said” I am here, so I might at well help fight the fire” I will never forget that! What a remarkable individual to leave his own parents celebation to help others. That is how I will remember Billy.

Take care all,
Barb, Doug and Noah Gill(Wynnyk)

Very shocked and sad news to hear about Bill…I worked with Bill at Schlumberger for his entire 21 years… I did not work with him in Red Deer but we got to know each other early in our carrers and kepth in touch with time. Bill was a solid person, solid Wireline Engineer…he enjoyed his field time; always there to help any one who needed help in the shop or the wellsite. He was always true to his word at stating exactly what was on his mind!!!
I enjoyed the many conversations with Bill on what was wrong with Schlumberger and the oil patch!!!
We just needed more time to sort it out!!!

My thoughts go out to all Bill’s family and friends at this time….he will be truly missed.

He knew me as just Rat

Billy was one of the good guys – an engineer’s engineer – the sort that set Schlumberger above the rest in the field and did more than his share to keep the management in line. Sad to hear about his passing – we are all richer in life for having known and worked with him. Take your well-earned rest Bill.
