Obituary
On September 7, 2019 Mr. Walter Yacyshyn of St. Paul passed away at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Valerie; son, Kevin (Kim) of Okotoks; 4 grandchildren, Kylie, Carter, Cashlyn & Carrera; loving parents, Nick & Olga Yacyshyn of Spedden; siblings, Oksana (Mike) Chimko & Marion (Joanne) both of St. Paul, & Halia (Daniel) St. Arnault of Mallaig; numerous nieces & nephews. Walter was predeceased by his daughter, Carla; & mother-in-law, Laura Hartley. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Very Reverend Father Don Bodnar will be officiating, with private family interment in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Spedden. Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Walter. We have good memories of Walter as well as you Valerie. It was so nice to bump into you at the same resort in Hawaii many years ago… as well as at the pier at Garner Lake last summer when you were taking the grandkids tubing. I remember Walter pounding on those drums with the orchestra at the old Spedden dances full of life and smile on his face! You have a so much to bear this year Valerie, stay strong for your son and grandchildren.
May God guide and hold you up during these next days, weeks and months. We are thinking of you all and praying for you all.. We are unable to attend the services.. but will be saying prayers for Walter and the family that day.
