Obituary
On June 1, 2019 Mr. Steve Smilar of Vegreville, formerly of Fort McMurray, passed away at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosemarie; 3 sons, James, Darren (Karen) & Dale (Debbie); 3 grandchildren, Collin, Blair & Jessica; great-granddaughter, Aria; sister, Vicky (Bill) Pinchin; brother, Henry; sister-in-law, Donna. Steve will be fondly remembered by numerous family & friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William & Nellie; sisters, Mary (Johnny) Wanchuk & Doris (Donald) Thompson; brother, Eddie. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Reverend Father Peter Haugen will be officiating with interment in Holy Cross Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Boyne Lake. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society), Holy Cross Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Boyne Lake or a charity of one’s choice c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
