Obituary
On May 25, 2017, Mrs. Solange Melanie Flore deMoissac of St. Paul passed away at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her children, Jeannine & Marie (Jess) Ouellet both of Edmonton, Jacqueline (Sonny L’Hirondelle) of Sherwood Park, Hubert of Elk Point, Henri (Leona) & Guy (Kathy) both of St. Paul, Yvonne Fagnan of Calgary, Emile (Carol) of Edmonton, Leo (Marlene), Pierre (Sue) & Yvette (Richard) Webster all of St. Paul, Madeleine (Ken) Calvert of Calgary & Jos of St. Paul; 39 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren & 2 on the way; brother, Joseph Joly; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Réne; daughter, Jeannette (Julien); sons-in-law, Guy Fagnan & Emile Isabel; daughter-in-law, Kathy; 6 brothers, George, Albert, Ralph, Marcel, Claude & Germain; sister, Yvonne. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, St. Paul. I know this message comes so late but I figured I would send it anyway. In 2006 Solange put my partner and I up at her home in St. Paul after we couldn’t find a place to live for a few weeks when moving there. She fed us partridge and in general treated us like royalty. I have never forgotten her kindness and I think about her often. She was a very bright light to us as young people even in her later years. May she rest in well deserved peace.
