Obituary
On July 16, 2018, Mrs. Sharon Johnson of Mallaig passed away at the age of 68 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, David; 2 sons, Mark & Aaron (Kate Osborne); 3 grandchildren, Brent (Justine), Brandi Lee (Adam Oborowsky) & Blair; sister, Lillian (Marvin) Budney; & brother, Melvin (Bernis) Nelson. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Raymond & Mary Nelson; & 2 brothers, Jim & Edward Nelson. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Jean de Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, Mallaig. Pastor Owen Isaacson will be officiating, with interment in Mallaig Baptist Cemetery, Mallaig. If desired, donations may be made to The Gideons or Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. Sharon and Dave, you have both had an impact on my life from the very beginning. Your hospitality to us as youth, was always so great and you always took such an interest in our lives. Over the years, whenever we would come back to Mallaig to visit, it was always such a pleasure to be able to catch up with Sharon. Her faith was evident, even through difficult times over the years and she had one of the best laughs and a wonderful sense of humour! She loved her family and friends fiercely and generously shared of herself with everyone her life touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave, Mark, Aaron and the whole family. She will be missed but she left a piece of herself with every single family member.
