Obituary
On February 7, 2014, Mrs. Rose Wrobel (Elanik) of Sherwood Park, formerly of St. Paul passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sharon (Bert) Barabash, Debra (Dollard) Joly & Kimberly Wrobel all of Sherwood Park, Valerie (Rob) Wallace of Calgary; 2 grandsons, Drew Joly of Sherwood Park & Matthew Wallace of Calgary; granddaughter, Deanna Rose Joly of Sherwood Park; very special sister-in-law, Mary Elanik of Glendon; sister-in-law, Eileen Elanik of Namao; many nieces, nephews, in-laws & friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Beverly Dianne Wrobel in 1966; parents, Helen & John Elanik in 1992; 2 brothers, Alec Elanik in 1999 & Mike Elanik in 2004; several nephews, aunts & cousins. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Pastor Kelly Sibley will be officiating with interment in Union Cemetery, St. Paul. To Rose’s family, I offer my sincere condolences on Rose’s passing. It was a privilege to have known Rose during her time at Lakeside Legion Manor. Rose was a pleasure to meet and get to know during my time at Pioneer Housing Foundation. I knew I could always depend on Rose’s thoughts on matters impacting seniors within our community. We will remember her great baking and ongoing contribution to bake sales helping with the seniors club. Rose always talked about how fortunate she was to have the support from her family. I count myself fortunate in having met Rose and the friendship we had.

On behalf of Darlene and myself I want to say that we are very sorry that we could not attend Auntie Rosie’s funeral but we were thinking of all of you on the day of her service. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time but know in your hearts that your Mom is now with Bonnie, Uncle Alec, Jerry, Bruce, Uncle Mike, and Baba & Gedo. Auntie Rosie will forever have a special place in my heart.
