Obituary

On January 15, 2015, Mr. Rob van Soest of St. Paul, formerly of Fort McMurray, passed away at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; 4 sons, Nich (Denise) van Soest of Myrnam, Darryl (Genai) van Soest of London, ON, Scott (Emjay) van Soest & Corey van Soest both of Edmonton; 6 daughters, Carmen van Soest of Vancouver, B.C., Anna Clerk & Shellie Clerk both of Calgary, Shawna (Brad) Payne, Jody (Rick) Hatch & Melanie (Paul) Drever all of Fort McMurray; numerous grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; mother, Reiny (Henk) Smit of Atitokan, ON; siblings, Norine (Michael) Fadyk, Gerry (Diana) Smit, Veronica (Claude) Gosselin & Joanne (Michael) Smit; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Bert van Soest. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, with Reverend Duane Grant officiating. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30's (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
