Obituary
On February 2, 2015, Mr. Peter Abraham Trottier of Kehewin passed away at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; children, Sidney Hunter, Peter (Shannon) Trottier Jr., Wayne McGilvery, Beatrice Chief, Diana (Donny) Trottier, Susanne (Clifton) Cross, Margaret Trottier, Nancy (Lance) Trottier, Joan (Steven) McGilvery, Eileen (Andrew) McGilvery, Bernice (Curtis) McGilvery & Bernie (Melda) McGilvery; 32 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; adopted brother, Harrison Wolfchild; 4 sisters, Christina (Julien) Paul, Justine Trottier, Evelyn Cardinal (Phil Hunter) & Susan (Joe) Quinney; adopted sister, Audrey Pipestem; brother-in-law, Moise Paul; sister- in- law, Violet Trottier; numerous nieces & nephews; culturally adopted children, Henry Berland, Gary Berland, Florence Berland, Rose Berland, Linda Berland, Peggy Berland & Tommy Berland. He was predeceased by his daughter, Candace Scalplock; son, David Hunter; parents, Edward & Marie Trottier; 4 brothers, Lawrence Trottier, Thomas Trottier, Victor Trottier & Celeste Trottier; 2 sisters, Nancy Trottier & Rachel Gladue; 2 half-sisters, Delphine Amahoose & Lavina Moosewah. A Wake will be held on Thursday & Friday, February 5 & 6 at Kehewin Band Hall, Kehewin. A Cultural Service will be held on Saturday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Kehewin Band Hall, Kehewin. Peter Trottier lived life to the fullest, and his legacy of kindness, generosity & friendship will never be forgotten. In particular, I remember how Peter used to have culturally ceremonies (sweats) & his powerful prayers to many. I want to thank Peter & Trottier familyfor the many years of friendship we shared with him. I will always carry his memory in my heart & prayers!

I’m saddened to learn of Peter’s passing. I enjoyed visiting with him and listening to him speak at Onion Lake funeral services. He was always very friendly, funny and very humble.
