Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of long time Boyne Lake resident, Mr. Nick Pityn at the age of 79 after a lengthy and difficult hospital stay following a livestock accident in November.
He will be remembered as a hard working, quiet man who dedicated his life to farming.  He leaves his wife, Dorothy; 7 sisters, Mary (Gordon) Dolynchuk, Anne Zawadiuk, Helen (Fred) Weeks, Kathy Myers, Margaret (Dino) DeBernardi, Eva Nolan & Irene (Andy) Zapisocki; extended family; many friends and acquaintances. He was predeceased by his parents, Onufrey & Patricia; sisters, Molly Shymkiw & Olga Osadchuk; brother, Peter Pityn & 2 infant brothers.
It was Nick’s wish that his life be celebrated and we invite you to join us Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul.  Reverend Duane Grant officiating with lunch reception to immediately follow. Interment in Norberg Pioneer Cemetery, Ashmont. 
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the University of Alberta Hospital 3C3 Intensive Care staff and doctors where they worked tirelessly caring for him, and to 3F3 where Nick spent his final days.  Special thanks to social worker, Zoe Ballek for her unfailing support during Nick’s stay.
