On April 23, 2023, Morningstar Rose Brertton-Croy of Edmonton, formerly of Saddle Lake, passed away at the age of 29 years. She is survived by 2 children, Daviegh-Lee & Harlow; father of her children, Shane Roasting; special friend, Frank Campbell; loving mother, Judy Brertton; siblings, Sarah Brertton, Jordan (Ellen) Brertton & David Croy Jr.; adopted siblings, Shayla Mackinaw, Owen Mackinaw & Shae Brertton; brother-in-law, Rodney McGilvery; kokom, Delia Brertton; paternal grandparents, Eva & Thomas Zeigenbien; grandparents, Carl & Florence Quinn, Cora Houle, Sandra McGilvery, Linda Makokis, Eva & Dennis Cardinal, Vince Moosewah, Clifford & Delores Cardinal, Leona Petrobono, George & Cecilia Cardinal & John Cardinal; aunties & uncles, Brenda Brertton, Shirley Brertton, Pam & Randy Scanie, Jody Brertton, Joey Brertton, Jamie & Jeremy Brertton, Tracy Zeigenbien, Tommy Zeigenbien, Maryanne Cardinal & Cherry-Che Flately; nieces, Serayia, Alizah, Bella, Serenity, Deliah & Seraine; nephews, Destine, Geoson & Jordan Jr.; numerous cousins & relatives. Morningstar was predeceased by her dad, David Joseph Croy; mosom, George Brertton; chapans, Joseph & Rosie Cardinal, Joseph & Maggie Moosewah. A Wake will be held on Saturday (leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m.) & Sunday, April 29 & 30 at Manitou Kihew Arena, Saddle Lake. A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Manitou Kihew Arena, Saddle Lake, with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
