Obituary
On June 7, 2017, Mr. Mike Shapka of Wasel passed away at the age of 84 years. He is survived by 3 sons, Doug (Barb), Rick (Pam) & Brad (Laurie); his friend, Maryann Wispinski; 13 grandchildren, Michael (Carolyn), Cindy (Jordan), Penny (Jeremy), Becky (Jacob), Jamie, Nicholai, Mikylie, Alexander, Maria, Marissa, Shaylin, Kayden & Ryden; 2 great-grandchildren, Kyla-Rae & Wyatt; sister, Lucy Holowach; sister-in-law, Elizabeth; numerous nieces & nephews. Mike was predeceased by his wife, Elsie in 2009; parents, Nick & Mary Shapka; 4 brothers, Bill, John, George & Alex; 5 sisters, Anne, Pearl, Kay, Ena & Rose. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, June 11 at 8:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Russo-Orthodox Church, Dickie Bush. Divine Liturgy & Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Russo-Orthodox Church, Dickie Bush. Reverend Father Daniel will be officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.
