Obituary
On June 5, 2013, Mr. Michael Melnyk of Smoky Lake passed away suddenly at the age of 52 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Zelpha; 1 son & 2 daughters, Joshua, Amanda & Melissa all of Edmonton; parents, Emily & Henry of Smoky Lake; brother, Terry (Ruth), Darlene (Denis) Harris & Christine (Brent) Fletcher all of Smoky Lake; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Marcus; grandson, Bryden; sister, Gale. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Smoky Lake Complex, Smoky Lake. Reverend Father Gerasim Power will be officiating, with interment in Holy Trinity Russo-Orthodox Cemetery, Smoky Lake. If desired, donations may be made to Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Death c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. Zelpha, words cannot describe how sorry we are. Together, you have raised an incredibly beautiful family, full of love for each other and for friends. The love you have given my family will carry you through your grief, and know we reciprocate that love to you all. Amanda and Melissa, you have always shown love for my kids, actually all kids… you have helped watch my kids, you helped teach my kids how to read and do math. Your love for others is the greatest gift your dad and mom could give you.
