From: Gordon Blazenko
Relation: Friend of the Brown family

I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to Melvin’s mother Emily Brown, his sister Shirley and all of the other members of Melvin’s family, especially his wife and children.
I have not seen Melvin since childhood, but I stayed a few summer vacations with Melvin and the Brown family and those times remain amongst some of my warmest childhood memories — bringing the cows home for milking, hunting groundhogs, and climbing in the hayloft. These were all great adventures for a city boy like me, and Melvin was my summer friend from the country who showed me round the farm. I was truly grateful for his brotherly leadership and I hope these memories will help everyone who loves him realize that he is remembered warmly much farther away than many of you may ever have realized.
