Obituary
On September 19, 2016, Mr. Matt Chaikowsky of Elk Point passed away at the age of 93 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anne; son, Gary (Linda) Chaikowsky; daughter, Elaine (Rick) Stevens; 4 grandchildren, Todd Chaikowsky, Crystal (Joe) Parrell, Adam (Janice) Stevens, Mark Stevens (Julie Harrison); 6 great-grandchildren, Grayson & Payton Chaikowsky, Liam, Kane & Jude Parrell and Madison Stevens. He was predeceased by his parents, Prokop & Olena; brothers, Peter, Paul & Mike Chaikowsky; infant sister, Zonia Chaikowsky; sister, Dorothy Zaraska;. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel . Reverend Father Mark Sych will be officiating, with interment in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cemetery, Angle Lake. I remember our family get-togethers, especially at Baba Godziuk’s and Uncle Matt would always make me laugh with his jokes and silly pranks. We will miss him dearly and will keep the Chaikowsky family in our prayers during this difficult time.

We will always hold the memories of Matt and days gone by. An accomplished technician who kept Hockey Night in Canada, Ed Sullivan, Don Messer, and playing on the local televisions in the area. On call 24/7 & farming full time. Then on weekends playing the sweet sounds of his violin. His music, kind heart, humor, and warm friendship will always be remembered.
