Obituary
On August 15, 2014, Mrs. Mary Smoliak of Myrnam passed away at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her loving children, Caroline Semeniuk of Myrnam, Gerry (Theresa) Smoliak of Edmonton, Albert (Kim) Smoliak of Calgary, Brian (Cindy) Smoliak of St. Paul & Beverly (Lawrence) Lasek of Two Hills; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Smoliak; son-in-law, Michael Semeniuk; sister, Sophie Myshaniuk; brother-in-law, Nick Myshaniuk. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 21 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, St. Paul. Reverend Father Peter Haugen will be officiating, with interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Myrnam. If desired, donations may be made to Myrnam Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church or Extendicare St. Paul Resident Council c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Aunty Mary – she was indeed a light that will be missed and thought of fondly – always making us eat! Lots of memories visiting “Bobbie’s” second mom when we were little sitting under the table listening to the adults visiting and laughing in Ukrainian! Always a smile 🙂 Love and Light she is at peace after a good life lead.
