Obituary
On October 13, 2016, Mrs. Mary Gilles (Zelant, née Eliuk) of Edmonton passed away at the age of 96 years. She will forever be remembered by her loving family: daughter, Fran Dziwenko; son, Al (Carol) Zelant; 2 grandchildren, Cindy (Brett) Cox & Greg (Gwen) Dziwenko; 5 great-grandchildren, Andrea, Meagan, Beau, Carson & Bobby; many family & friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Rita & Nick Eliuk; brothers, John & William; first husband, Bill Zelant; second husband, Joe Gilles; son-in-law, Albert Dziwenko. The family would like to thank the staff at Norwood Palliative Care Unit for the care given to our Mom and Baba. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul. (Viewing one hour prior) Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be officiating with interment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Flat Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mary to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Edmonton Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. I miss baba everyday, she was a strong, loving amazing person who gave so much of herself to her family. My memories of Baba include the time she spent with my little girls, talking about the animals and people in her life, helping with my garden and flowerbeds, and of course – taking care of little Greg. She has improved the lives of many of the people around her, just by being Baba. Love Gwen
