Obituary
On November 9, 2017, Mrs. Marie Alma Cardinal (nee Desjarlais) of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 78 years. She is survived by her children, Juanita (Paul), George, Rosalie (David), Mary-Jane (Norris), Andrew (Panella), Verlyn (Dale) Jackson, Ruby (Simon) Sparklingeyes, Jordan Bryce, Aleiha Simon, Jaylon Simon, Drayton (Lisa), Craig & Cheyanne; adopted son, Clifford (Natalie); brother, Walter Desjarlais; sister, Agnes Collins; sister-in-law, Diana; brother-in-law, Bill Heath; & numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces & nephews. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Johnny M. Cardinal; daughter, Teresa Large; infant son; parents, Hycinthe Desjarlais & Theresa Desjarlais (nee Bighead); siblings, Bella, Julia, Mary Collins, Albert Desjarlais, John Desjarlais, Lawrence Desjarlais, Annie Tourangeau, Jimmy Desjarlais, Madeline Heath & Clara Desjarlais. A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, followed by a Wake at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake (leaving Grace Gardens at 3:00 p.m.) Final Respects will be held on Saturday, November 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Saddle Lake. God Speed, Neetim, you were my Teacher Assistant in my 2nd Year as Teacher, and you’d laugh at me when I would bring rabbits for lunch, as I snared them on mornings. God Bless and Ayi Hai for the Respect you always gave me when I seen you, mostly in Wakes (Apologies for saying that).
