Margaret DESAULNIERS

Obituary
It is with great heartache that we announce the passing of Margaret Desaulniers (Margy to those who loved her), on November 20, 2021 while in the Rimbey Hospital. She resided with her daughter West of Rimbey for the last four and a half years.
Margaret is survived by her 4 children, Judith Desaulniers of Rimbey, Faye Gray of St. Albert, Robert (Brenda) Markwart of St. Albert & Brenda Desaulniers (Doug) of Edmonton; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Margaret) Sanche of Saskatoon, SK, Louis (Gerry) Sanche of Vancouver Island, B.C., Leona (Gordon) Block of Edmonton, Sr. Rosemarie of Prince Albert, SK, Sr. Josephine of Prince Albert, SK & Edward (Helen) Sanche of Red Deer; special mention to Margaret’s sister-in-law, Terry Sanche of Beaumont who was like a sister to her; numerous nieces & nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Armand; son, Terrance Markwart; parents, Gedeon & Loretta Sanche; as well as 6 siblings.
Margaret spent many years as an L.P.N. caring for patients in the Intensive Care, Dialysis & Kidney Transplant wards. She loved her nursing years. Margaret loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, doing word & picture puzzles, camping & was a whiz at cards. Special thanks from the family to the nursing staff at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Acute/ Palliative Care for the compassion shown to all of us. Also to the nursing staff at Homecare (FCSS) in Rimbey for all the help in trying to make Margaret’s transfer home as comfortable as possible.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul with Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier officiating. Cremation has taken place. Those wishing to view the service online may do so by Livestream on Tuesday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m. by clicking the Live Service tab on our website. A recording of the service will also be made available. Inurnment will take place in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lafond next to her husband & son. It was a lovely service yesterday for your Mom. My sincere condolences to Juse, Faye, Brenda & Bob and all of Margaret’s extended family.
I grew up a couple doors away and “Faye’s Mom” was always so welcoming 💕 May she Rest In Peace.
