Obituary
On January 30, 2020, Mrs. Mabel Beatrice Shirt Sr. of Goodfish Lake passed away at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Ursula (Craig) Shirt, Trudy (Perry) Lightning & Olga (Rodney) Shirt; son, Henry (Theresa) Shirt; daughters-in-law, Cary Shirt, Patsy Jackson & Dorothy Sandfly; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Betsy Jackson, Lavina Delver, Charlie (Margaret) Jackson, Lillian (Prosper) Delver & Violet Jackson; adopted sons, daughters, brothers & sisters; numerous nieces & nephews. Mabel was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; parents, Simon & Sarah; 2 sons, Charles & Randy; 2 daughters, Valerie & Mary; granddaughter, Carly; 3 grandsons, Edwin, Jordan & Cory. A Wake will be held on Thursday (leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m.) & Friday, February 6 & 7 at Goodfish Lake Cultural Centre, Goodfish Lake. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Goodfish Lake Cultural Centre, Goodfish Lake. Oh my sweet Mabel, I will never forget how soft spoken you were but you were also quite funny. I can’t count the number of times I went to sit and chat with you on your bed. One of the first times I sat with you you were picking the little fuzz balls on your socks. I said Mabel what are you doing and she said well it gives me something to do. I know hospitals aren’t the best place to keep you busy so you found something to do. I remember how sweet you were and I would just pinch your sweet cheeks and give you a great big kiss. Your little pointy nose was so cute. To Mabel’s family…your mother was a beautiful gem and I will never forget her. She loved her family and didn’t want to be a burden to anyone. Rest In Peace Mabel. Love you to the moon and back. Fly with the Angels 💕💕💕💕💕

I so enjoyed talking and laughing with Mabel. She was so sweet and soft spoken. When I think of her I will remember enjoying her company at the bingo hall.
