Obituary
On January 15, 2023, Leon L’Hirondelle of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 55 years. He is survived by his common-law partner of 30 years, Doris Steinhauer; son, Sheldon Steinhauer; step-children, Miranda “Holly” Steinhauer, Rebecca Lynn Steinhauer (Cody Powder) & Drayton James Steinhauer; grandson, Jermaine Jerome and numerous other grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn “Kate” Marie Cardinal, Faedra Theresa Ann (Alvin) Steinhauer & Sharon Lee Mary L’Hirondelle; brother, Stan Francis (Amy) L’Hirondelle; numerous nieces & nephews. Leon was predeceased by his daughter, Chantel Jerome; son, Leon Shawn Steinhauer; parents, Irene Cardinal (nee Whiskeyjack) & Stanley L’Hirondelle Sr.; brother, Kurt Takakinaw. A Wake will be held on Thursday, January 26 (leaving Grace Gardens at 11:00 a.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. My brother Leon was a very kind soul with so many gifts. His artwork was amazing. I will miss you big brother. I will always love you. I know you are with Mum and Dad and the others we miss so much and remain in our hearts and that brings me comfort. Lifting prayers for you and all our relations. I am so grateful for the love and support during this time. We all are. My heart goes out to all who loved and cared for my big brother. RIP Lee I love you always.
