Obituary
On December 2, 2016, Irene Samson of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 81 years. She is survived by her loving children, Patsy (Gregory) Hysell & Joseph (Sabrina) Anderson; grandchildren, Dawn (Doug) Higueris, Ricky (Nicole) Anderson & Jesse Anderson; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; nephews & nieces, Louis (Gloria) Moosewah, Eva (James) L’Hirondelle, Linda Stone, Ronnie Stone, Lorraine Stone, Velma Anderson & Theresa (Peter) Jackson; and her dog, Bobo. She was predeceased by her parents, Jesse & Susan Samson; sisters, Christina Moosewah, Julia Stone & Mary Jane Samson; & 9 brothers. A Wake will be held on Thursday & Friday, December 8 & 9 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Saddle Lake. You are the most amazing mother one could ask for. You have given me and greg the greatest gift, the love of a mother. You became my husbands mom when he lost the only family he had left in this world, you became his mom. You became my mom when you never had to and I will always be your baby. May you rest now in eternal peace and our Lord will wait to welcome home. Be my strength and cont ue to guide Greg and I.

To the Samson Family: My sincerest of condolences on the passing of your loved one. She was a beautiful lady. Irene was my babysitter when I was a little girl growing up in St. Brides. Mom was a teacher and a Dad was a farmer, so they needed a trusted sitter. They thought the world of Irene. Although I was little at the time, I remember her well. She was very kind and extremely responsible. She was a beautiful person, and I can tell by reading her obituary that she led a full life, and leaves behind a remarkable legacy. Again, my deepest condolences. I will be praying for all of you during this difficult time.
