Obituary
On September 2, 2015, Irene Cardinal of Jasper, formerly of Saddle Lake, passed away at the age of 71 years. She is survived by her loving companion, Barry Gilbert; 3 daughters & 2 sons, Evelyn Kate Marie Cardinal, Leon Alfred L’Hirondelle (Doris), Faedra Therena Anne (Alvin) Steinhauer, Sharon Lee Mary L’Hirondelle & Stan Francis (Amy) L’Hirondelle; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters & 3 brothers, Bella (Ian) Shenfield, Dorothy Visser, Oscar (Marguerite) Whiskeyjack, Francis (Elsie) Whiskeyjack, Ivan Whiskeyjack, Virginia Whiskeyjack & Shirley (Louis) Whiskeyjack; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Stan L’Hirondelle; grandson, Shawn; siblings, Ben, Joan, Charlotte, Mary-Jane, Julie & Regina. A Wake will be held on Monday, September 7 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Our Sincere Condolences from our house to yours. So sorry for your loss. Irene was such a wonderful lady. I have never forgotten her for her thoughtfullness and her kindness. She was so kind to me at a difficult time in my life. She nursed me back to health. I have never forgotten that. I’m sure i’m not the only person who can witness like that. Relation: Relationship - How did you know the deceased?
Irene always showed me acceptance and love; even after many years of not communicating. My last visit with her in Jasper was especially memorable. She was always encouraging to me and had a beautiful smile. I’m glad that her suffering has ended and her memory will live on in my heart. Rest in peace my sister; rest in peace.
