Obituary
On February 15, 2016, Mrs. Helen Marchuk of St. Paul passed away at the age of 95 years. She is survived by 2 daughters, Wanda Splawinski of Edmonton & Rita (Pat) Lawson-Maguire of B.C.; son, Ed (Cathy) Marchuk of Calgary; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; 5 siblings; & grandson, Sean Lawson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant, with interment in Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Flat Lake. Even though I have lived away from St. Paul for many years, I still met Mrs. Marchuk many times on return visits and we always had such nice conversations. She was a wonderful lady and a great friend to my mom for many years. My sincere condolences to her family on their loss.

Wanda, my deepest sympathies on the loss of your dear mother. She always greeted me when I walked passed her door, when I visited my sister who passed away Dec. 30th. I am sure the staff is also going to miss her also, she was a grand lady…. take care.

Edmund, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. The last time I saw your mom was in the late 70’s when I was working in the burger stand at Smoky Lake. I remember my visits to the farm at Flat Lake and staying over night and the fun we had. I’ve uploaded a 2011 photo of our family. Carl passed away in 1998 and Keith passed away in 2012.
