Obituary
On November 4, 2017, Mr. Harry Shankowski of Elk Point passed away at the age of 93 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Caroline; 2 daughters & 2 sons, Shirley (Clifford) Rolheiser of Vermilion, MaryAnn (Gary) Kozicky, Philip (Christine) & Tim (Lorraine) all of Elk Point; 9 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ference of Vegreville; brother, Peter (Doris) of Winterburn; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Nick & Palagia and 4 siblings. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elk Point. Reverend Father Mark Sych will be officiating with interment in the church cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Parkview Resident Council c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. Mrs. Shankowski, Tim, Shirley, MaryAnn, Phillip; my deepest condolences on the loss of your father. What a special man he was. I remember before bingo on Friday nights he would salute Budha for good luck, Ice Fishing was a blast, and the best part was the beautiful farm… reminds me in some ways of my father. Your Dad was jolly and fun and had a great sense of humor. Hold on tight to your mother and tell her you love her often….
