On September 29, 2020, Mr. Harry “Chookie” Dilney of Fort McMurray, formerly of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, passed away at the age of 57 years. He is survived by his loving spouse, Denise Ward; daughter, Miranda; 3 grandchildren, Alex, Haleigh & Laxmi; 2 sisters & 1 brother, Martina, Bernie (Larry) Watts & Basil; father-in-law, Norman Ward; sisters-in-law, Sandra & Penny; brother-in-law, Mitchell (Tammy); Denise’s sons, Corey (Chelsey) & Matt; Denise’s grandchildren, Hunter & Bryer “Butler”; numerous nieces & nephews. Harry was predeceased by his parents, Steven & Agnes; sisters, Pauline & Donna; brother, Stevie; & nephew, Steve. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. My condolences to the family. I was saddened to hear the passing of Chookie. I have lots of fond memories of my mother’s youngest brother, we were at his house (nan’s house) all the time when I was a small girl, he was like a brother. Then unfortunately Divorce hits my family and people loose touch, but I have never lost those memories. I was so happy to reunite with the family members at my mother’s funeral. It was so nice to see everyone. My husband had met and worked with Chookie at Syncrude as well. I will miss him even though we were not very close, I did consider him my uncle.
