Obituary
On November 18, 2012, Mr. Gordon McGilvery of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his children, Doris (Ralph) Benson & Peter (Beatrice) McGilvery all of Elk Point, Alvina McGilvery of Edmonton, Leanne (Garry) Louis of Ponoka, Ira (Andrea) McGilvery of Battle River, Miranda Delver & Gordon Jr. (Dawn Cardinal) McGilvery all of Saddle Lake; adopted son, Ben Cardinal of Saddle Lake; “Mom”, Marylis Buffalo; 28 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, David McGilvery of Saddle Lake; adopted brother, Arnold H. Steinhauer of Saddle Lake; numerous nieces & nephews; his dog, Lily McGilvery. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter & Julian; daughter, Shawna McGilvery, first wife, Mary; second wife, Elizabeth; 6 brothers & 2 sisters, Sam McGilvery, Edmond McGilvery, Joe McGilvery, Louis McGilvery, Angelique Cardinal, Edna Whitford, Adolphus Bird & Donald McGilvery. A Wake will be held on Thursday & Friday, November 22 & 23 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24 at 12:00 p.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake.
