Obituary

On September 8, 2015, Mr. Gil Phillips of St. Paul, formerly of Glendon, passed away at the age of 90 years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Hazel; 3 daughters & 3 sons, Dianne (Dennis) Simonson of Lac La Nonne, Eunice (Lyle) Lea-Wilson of Edmonton, Randy (Irene) Phillips of Mayo, Yukon, Noreen (Myles) Cotton of Glendon, Kevin (Nicole) Phillips & Allan (Frances) Phillips both of Mayo, Yukon; daughter-in-law, Hannah Phillips of Medicine Hat; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 2 sisters, Eileen Simonson of Camrose & Shirley Hierlihy of Buck Lake.  He was predeceased by his son, Gary Phillips in 2005; 3 brothers, Gene, Mike & Bob; sister, Angeline.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Glendon Seniors Center, Glendon.  Pastor Kelly Sibley will be officiating, with interment in Arcadia Cemetery, Glendon.  If desired, donations may be made to St. Paul & District Crisis Association c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.  To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.

He always welcomed all us “kids” into his home at all hours, and we knew we were welcome. It was a pleasure growing up around the family and knowing him.
