Obituary
On December 25, 2016, Mr. George Thomas Newby of St. Paul, formerly of Ashmont, passed away at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his son, Dwayne (Linnette) Newby of Ashmont, & their children, Richard Newby, Tina (Clinton) Robinson & Tyson (Alison) Newby; son-in-law, Roy Cozzens & his children, Wade (Theresa) Perreault & Ashley Cozzens; son-in-law, Bryce Bodnar & his children, Cody (Mishayla Draper) Bodnar, Branden Bodnar & Cassandra Bodnar; 7 great-grandchildren, Eric, Sara, Brittany, Sidney, Cheyenne, Brooklyn & Georgia; sister-in-law, Solange; 2 brothers-in-law, Delbert Cutshaw & Clayton Cutshaw; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. George was predeceased by his wife, Izola in 2004; 2 daughters, Susan Cozzens & Tammy Lynn Bodnar; granddaughter, Caitlyn Bodnar; parents, William & Ada Newby; brother, Bob Newby; & 2 sisters, Peggy Brett & Chris Slater. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, with Pastor Christopher Cook officiating. Sunnyside residents become over time like a great big family. Many of us wished him Merry Christmas the night before, and were so saddened by morning to learn of his passing. Regardless, also, some have said George was honoured to be taken HOME on such a special Day. HE WILL BE MISSED.
