I worked with Eugene about a dozen years ago. I learned from him and I laughed with him. I have fond memories. To his family and friends my sincere condolences.

Eugene and I met as a result of an audit of a 1st Nation enterprise that he was the executive director of many years ago. He had a friendly personality that I could relate to and one of the highlights for my wife Irene and myself was a 1st Nations function that has your famous actress (Dancing with Wolves) as the guest speaker. I had the pleasure of having Eugene learn something about public practice accounting and tax at my accounting firm in Sherwood Park. I last spoke to Eugene in about 2009 when he was operating an auto business in Hobema. We were going to get together but we never did. I have nothing but good thoughts about Eugene and I know he has a wonderful place in heaven and he will intervene to make life better for all of us here on earth.

To Lorraine and family,
I just wish to express to you my sincere condolences for your loss.
I had the privaledge of working with Eugene first as a Councillor and later as the Chief of the Nation. I always appreciated his insight and mature leadership which he provided and knew that his decisions would be thoughtful and his advise always even handed and fair.
The Nation has lost a valued Member who will always be remembered by me and others for the values he lived by and the quality of his character.
May he rest in peace.
