On January 31, 2015, Mrs. Emma Cardinal of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 78 years. She is survived by 5 sons & 1 daughter, Gordon (Debbie Cardinal), Darryl (Marlene Quinney), Kenneth (Iris Cardinal), Eldon (Lisa Big John), Jason (Rene Houle) & Marlene Cardinal; 37 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 1 sister & 1 brother, Josephine Steinhauer & Ernest Cardinal; 2 brothers-in-law, Archie Cardinal & Leonard (Jackie) Demarre; adopted brothers & sisters, Alex Redcrow, Andy Redcrow, Victor Redcrow, Adrian Redcrow, Evelyn Redcrow & Liz Redcrow; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis; 2 sons, Gary & Wesley Cardinal; grandson, Cody Brown; parents, Alex & Laura Doghead; 3 sisters, Mary Makokis, Evangeline Brertton & Myrtis Redcrow; 4 sisters-in-law, Clara Demarre, Philomene Cardinal, Myrtle Steinhauer & Verna Large; adopted parents, Alex & Ruby Redcrow. A Wake will be held on Saturday & Sunday, February 7 & 8 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Condolences to the family. So sad to hear of Emma’s passing, she was a great friend to us over a lot of years! She was always so quick to give a person a “Big” hug where ever we happened to run into Emma. I hadn’t seen Emma for quit some time ~ and I would always say to my husband, gee I wonder how Emma is… So sorry too hear this news … Prayer’s go out for her & her family…
